In Loving Memory

From the time
that I stepped into the structure of
The Temptations, I have always been
in total awe and amazement of Pop Atkins.
He was everything I ever heard or read about the Apollo entertainers.
He was a treasure chest of information
on the historical roots of black entertainers.
I listened to his stories for eighteen years and
I loved every minute of it.
He was a legend.
He was a master.
He was a father figure
to everyone that knew him and
my heart is very sad.
But I’m thankful
that I had the opportunity to know him.  Whatever part
the “dance section” is in Heaven,
he’s gonna be doing his thing.

From one of Cholly “Pop” Atkins’ many children,
